Advance Signal Generator Type 62, a laboratory electronic test instrument designed to generate controlled radio frequency signals for testing and alignment of radios, receivers and electronic circuits. Produced by Advance Components Ltd of England, it was used in telecommunications workshops, service departments and research laboratories to provide stable signal outputs across a range of frequencies. Essential servicing equipment during the valve and early transistor era, prior to modern digital frequency synthesised generators; mid-20th century, circa 1950s–1960s.
