With a lot of determination — and more than a fair amount of grit — that’s exactly what we did.

Powerhouse Props didn’t appear overnight. It began with a year and a half of sourcing for Silo, followed by the decision to build something bigger: a dedicated prop rental company with a clear point of view. Then Covid hit. Then, just as momentum was building, the US strikes brought everything to a standstill. It’s fair to say the start was… challenging.

But here we are.

Today, Powerhouse Props operates from a 17,000 sq. ft warehouse, delivering to productions across the UK and beyond. We work with set decorators, buyers, and art departments on a wide range of film and television projects, and we’re lucky enough to meet some incredibly talented (and genuinely lovely) people along the way.

What sets us apart is a combination of experience and instinct. With backgrounds in both business and design, we understand the pressures of production and the importance of finding the right prop — quickly, reliably, and without compromise. Our focus is on industrial and hard-to-find pieces, many of which haven’t been available to hire in the UK before.
