A precision analogue voltmeter designed for measuring alternating current voltage, widely used in electrical laboratories, power stations, and engineering workshops. The instrument features a sensitive moving-iron movement with a broad scale and is housed in a polished wooden case with external terminals for connection. Early 20th century, c.1910s–1930s.
