Industrial steel parts trays or totes used in factories and machine shops to move or store components. Used to carry machined parts, bolts and hardware, tools, assembly components and scrap/offcuts. Made to survive oil, heat and hard wear and tear. Folded heavy gauge steel construction and these would have slid into a storage area. We really like these and use them at home for shelf supports. 1940s-1970s.
Some are painted dark blue.
