Antique Powell & Hanmer or Birmingham bicycle or motorbike head lamp. Water was dripped onto calcium carbide in a lower chamber to produce acetylene gas which then was lit to create a bright flame. Really safe. Francis Powell and Francis Hanmer founded their company in 1885.
