Marked Richmond Electronics (Maryate) Ltd., it reflects British manufacture and mid-century electronic test equipment design. Instruments of this type were used in laboratories, technical colleges, telecommunications workshops and research facilities for circuit development and fault finding. 1960s to 1970s, prior to widespread digital component measurement systems.
