Portable telecommunications test set housed in a metal carrying case with hinged lid and internal instruction sheet. Connection points and switching arrangements allowed the unit to simulate, monitor and measure signals within telephone or communication circuits during installation, maintenance and fault testing.
Equipment of this type was used by telecommunications engineers and service technicians to test line performance, signal balance and transmission quality in field and exchange environments. 1960s to 1970s, within professional telecommunications engineering systems.
