Early portable electrical testing instruments designed to measure A.C. and D.C. voltage, current, and resistance in electrical and radio circuits. The “Universal Avometer” series was widely used by electricians, engineers, and military technicians for servicing electrical installations and wireless equipment. Heavy bakelite-cased instruments typical of professional test gear from the early wireless era. Early to mid-20th century, c.1930s–1940s.
