A Negretti & Zamba recording thermograph (sometimes combined thermograph-hygrograph). that records temperature over time and often humidity also (dual pens = dual recording)

The rotating drum holds graph paper and is driven by clockwork — just like the barographs — but instead of pressure capsules, it uses a bimetal strip (temperature) and a hair bundle or sensor (humidity).

This is a portable scientific or laboratory meteorological recorder, not a decorative home instrument. 1940s-1960s.
