Fibre scope inspection system, a portable optical viewing unit used for remote visual inspection of confined or inaccessible areas using a flexible fibre-optic probe and CRT display monitor. Used in engineering, aerospace, manufacturing and maintenance environments to examine internal components, pipework and machinery without dismantling equipment. Housed in a transport case for field use, it formed part of professional industrial inspection practice before modern digital endoscopes and video borescopes became standard; 1970s–1980s.
