A glass demijohn or carboy is a durable, non-reactive vessel for fermenting or storing wine, beer, cider or oil. They typically feature a narrow neck, would have had a rubber or cork bung and range from 1.9L to over 20L in capacity. This one has a protective wooden basket. and the neck pokes above. (I will be making a taller basket for it in future). This is a hand blown one from 1870-1910..
You can age the wood if you wish. We have others in stock if you wish to make a display.
