Radio reception set R107, ZA.3050, a professional communications receiver housed in a metal case with protective corner bars. The front panel includes a large calibrated tuning dial, signal meter, range selector, aerial trimmer and multiple rotary and toggle controls for power, audio, filtering and bandwidth selection.
Marked with connections for open aerial, dipole feeder and earth, the set was designed for fixed station or field communications use. Receivers of this type were employed in military, governmental and specialist communications environments for monitoring and receiving radio transmissions across defined frequency ranges. Construction and layout suggest manufacture and use during the 1950s to 1960s.
