Advance LF Signal Generator Type B1A, a laboratory low frequency signal generator designed for testing, calibration and servicing of audio and electronic equipment. Manufactured by Advance, a British maker of professional electronic test gear, it provided stable signal outputs across multiple frequency ranges for use in telecommunications workshops, research laboratories and service departments. Instruments of this type formed standard electronic test equipment prior to widespread digital signal generators; 1950s–1960s.
